LOV - League of Volunteers

Since 1979, League of Volunteers (LOV) has been providing the community programs and services cut from city budgets. Through LOV’s more than 40 programs and services, we reach the families, children and seniors in Fremont, Newark and Union City, California.  We provide art assemblies to schools, concerts for the community, and scholarship support for students of the arts.  More than 500 children attend our amazing Best of Newark free Summer Recreation in the Parks program each year, and enjoy 6 weeks of games, sports, art, community presentations, and special entertainment events – all made possible by and through our community.  We feed approximately 5000 people on Thanksgiving Day. Our annual Toy Drive serves the needs of local homes and over 20 shelters and agencies.  LOV provides Adopt-a-Family holiday adoptions, toys and generous food baskets for 250 families during the December holidays.

Finally, LOV mobilizes the community.  We create giving programs tailored to meet the objectives of the businesses that make their homes here, and that impact the residents who live here.  Companies make their imprint on the communities they share in ways that are powerful at both ends of the giving chain.

LOV’s objectives for 2020-21 are to enhance, strengthen and increase the ways and the paths for Southern Alameda County and the Bay Area to care for all our families, and to use art, community programs, partnerships and services that make it easy for positive improvements and change to reach those in need. Your assistance in helping us to reach these goals would be highly appreciated.
